Bambooo Tree Spa is a petite yet plush looking day spa catering to men and women. Positioned just off Carter-Road, the spa stands pretty on a tranquil road; one that is not hard-to-find yet away from the chaos and traffic. Upon entering, one is welcomed by perfumed aromas and lounge music. Equipped with two treatment rooms that double as a ‘couples room’, the spa has a separate section for their famous ‘Dr. Fish’ therapy and another section for hair treatments. Despite the cramp, Bambooo Tree Spa manages to be soothing and proffers environs dotted with luxurious details such as Buddha statuettes, potted plants and the like.
The list of treatments here is limited yet quite exclusive. Apart from their USP, the ‘Dr. Fish’, one must also opt for their Exotic Candle, Holistic Bamboo and Power Yoga massages together with their array of spa facials.
I make do with their Holistic Bamboo massage which is a deep tissue massage using a lightly fragrant aroma oil and hot bamboos. My therapist, Awan, takes utmost care to make me feel incredibly relaxed right from the beginning. As I lay on the massage table expecting her kneading hands to do their magic, she starts massaging my legs using warm oil. The oils used here are of ‘low density’ and won’t make you feel greasy. A fair amount of firm strokes loosen my muscles and help me to drift into oblivion. She works on my body for an hour, never letting up on the pressure or weakening her touch. Towards the fag end, hot bamboos are rolled on to my body. The sensation is deeply rejuvenating and the treatment ends with warm, cranberry-flavoured tea that fully detoxifies me.
Bambooo Tree’s main expertise lies in their renowned Doctor Fish Therapy (Rs. 800 for 25 min) where you relax your tired feet as a shoal of Garra Rufa fish (imported from Turkey) nibble on dead skin to revamp them. This intriguing exfoliation service is offered at this outfit and is very effective before a pedicure. Dr. Fish is also known to promote blood circulation, heal wounds and stimulate regeneration of skin. You can also avail of spa mani-pedis to complete the experience. Note that their rates are moderate (no five-star exorbitant charges). At Bambooo, expect professional treatments that revitalise the mind, body and soul.
Make sure to drop by soon.
