Breaking bread at Raaga is delightful because they’re breaking the mould for Indian cuisine. Lamb chops come sizzling on a hot plate, the paneer is peppered and pit roasted, the nimbu chicken is dramatic and delish. The menu, crafted over four months of deliberation, intentionally sidesteps the classic staples of Indian fare. However, when it gives in to palak paneer and black dal, prepare to be surprised. Kebabs melt in the mouth (they really do), the mélange of assorted spices is delicately handled and the oil/cream overdose is avoided. There’s a small section for Sindhi dishes as well.
A little bar acts as the mediator between the restaurant and ‘Raaga by the Bay’, their all day, verdant café with a gorgeous view of the marina, where you can call for Continental and Asian fare, niblets and beverages in laidback, vacation style!
