Happy tummies with happy pockets, that's a rare combination to find. This search however ends at Grillopolis.
The beautiful and cozy restaurant has two sections; the ground floor- reserved for buffet and the lounge/bar on the 1st floor for drinks and A la carte. The bartender mixing brilliant cocktails and Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi playing live on a big screen makes for a surreal experience. Everything, right from the grand entrance to the barrel shaped wash
basins has been designed keeping the Grand Bazaar of Istanbul in mind.
The buffet is the highlight here. The first course starts with mezze platter (very Arabic) made of salad, olives, pita bread, hummus and babaganush followed by soft grilled cottage cheese, skewed chicken, succulent lamb kebabs, crispy king prawns, grilled fish, honey glazed chicken etc. The staff is hospitable enough to serve you the starters in the lounge section while you sip on some perfectly blended cocktails.
The main course earns brownie points for the sheer variety. There is sprouts salad, fish with mashed potatoes, crab masala, pasta, lasagnya and cheese risotto to choose from. Indian palette? Then there is authentic mutton roganjosh, dum biryani, dal and methi chaman. Desserts include tasty strawberry pasteries.
Only Rs 650 for such a sumptious meal?! It's definitely VFM.

I was completely smitten by this place on my very first visit. so much that I recommended it to my friend for his pre marriage bash. No place serves such varied starters in their buffets. the grilled fish, stuffed potatoes, king prawns, mezzo platter, grilled cottage cheese, lamb kebabs everything is perfectly cooked and tastes absolutely delicious. in the main course rogan josh is worth a try. i loved sitting in the lounge section, drinking an old monk and listening to Eric Clapton and Dire Straits.
