The Abbott Hotel is a well-known destination in Sector 2, Vashi. Established in 1986 by Mr. Abbott, the place is now run by his sons. The hotel is famous for the Cottage Bar, a theme restaurant/bar that has a single, thatched sloping roof for a ceiling. Adjoining this is The Creek Restaurant, which gets its name from the hotel’s proximity to the Thane creek. It is much more spacious and vibrant. They serve a buffet breakfast from 7 am – 10.30 am.
Both these establishments serve the same fare, which is generally above average with good portion sizes. Popular dishes include the murg banjara kebab, sliced chicken in wine sauce, veg gilafi kebab, sizzlers and the chocolate mousse. The menu also features a ‘zero-oil section’, the secret to which Mr. Sudhir refuses to disclose. However, he guarantees that all the food under that section is most definitely oil-free!
