KBS Foundation will hold a ‘Car Free Day’ at Carter Road, Bandra on February 21st, Sunday, 2010 to encourage use of cycling and spread awareness about reducing emissions and pollution through their ‘Active Transportation’- Walking and Cycling project. Carter Road from Otter’s Club end to Café Coffee Day will be shut to all vehicles. Events will begin from 8am upto 10pm. A fun filled day, with very interesting events incl. gully cricket and football has been planned. A multi cuisine extensive food court will be one of the attractions. Stalls will be put up all along Carter Road on the footpath side. The event will start off with 5000-6000 cyclists who are participating in the Network18 Sport18‘s Mumbai Cyclothon - Fun Ride. The event calendar and Cyclothon together are expected to attract 20000 plus people. Prominent Bandra resident and famous singer Shaan will be performing apart from many other bands and troupes. A Core Team of concerned citizens who are passionate about protecting the environment & cycling are working round the clock in planning out this event.
